The three-day New Government Procurement Act (NGPA) Caravan aimed to strengthen institutional capacity for effective and compliant procurement practices concluded on October 29 held at the Manila Prince Hotel.
ASC participants, led by President John N. Cabansag gained a deeper grasp of the law, particularly its emphasis on transparency, accountability, and compliance in public procurement.
The session on Contract Implementation & Sanction Mechanism by Atty. Karina Antonette A. Agudo (Director, Administrative Service, DSWD; GPPB Recognized Trainer) highlighted the importance of proper contract execution, monitoring, and enforcement of sanctions—equipping participants with practical knowledge to ensure due diligence and prevent irregularities.
Insights from Atty. Genmaries Entredicho-Caong (Exec.Director, Procurement Service-DBM) underscored the significance of PhilGEPS and e-procurement tools in modernizing procurement, reducing red tape, and promoting transparency and efficiency.
The training reinforced ASC’s alignment with PASUC’s advocacy for strengthening systems, enhancing accountability, and building future-ready SUCs capable of implementing the NGPA effectively.
